About the position
The Electrical Service Project Manager is responsible for managing projects related to electrical services, focusing on low and medium power distribution systems. This role involves overseeing all aspects of project execution, from planning and estimating to installation and commissioning, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects specific to the electrical services business, focusing on low/medium power distribution systems.
- Participate in pre-bid reviews, pre-job walks, and sales to operations turnover meetings.
- Analyze available one-line drawings and site documentation to determine project requirements.
- Develop project plans in advance of project activity, ensuring effective execution by the Project Team.
- Monitor on-site project management to ensure compliance with the execution plan.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of engineering re-estimate reports.
- Utilize financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of progress billings and pursue timely payments from customers.
- Obtain bids and select reliable subcontractors for project execution support.
- Manage the completion of all close-out documentation and project records.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate degree; Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in installation, maintenance, engineering, or project management of low/medium voltage power distribution systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction drawings, including mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and input to assist in project execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice-to-haves
- PMP Certification preferred.
- NETA or NICET Certification preferred.
