About the position

Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on creating innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, particularly in electrical design and integration for defense systems. Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and integrate solutions for electrical system designs.
• Focus on electrical design and integration for the Enduring Shield ground-based force protection system.
• Participate in the design of electrical architectures and integrated systems for various mission-critical systems including flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardware.
• Conduct high-speed and mixed signal schematic design and simulation.
• Perform system-level electrical design including cable design specification and cable drawings.
• Engage in parts selection and derating activities.
• Conduct new PCB hardware design verification testing.
• Support system-level integration activities and STE (Special Test Equipment) design and assembly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution with 8+ years of experience or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
• Working knowledge of digital/analog/mixed signal electronics, components, and interface/communication standards.
• Experience in electronics design and test from architecture through implementation.
• Ability to perform in a collaborative engineering environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess (or be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet eligibility to obtain one.
