About the position

The Electrical Field Service Technician/Engineer is responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, as well as corrective maintenance solutions for electrical systems and equipment across multiple facilities. This role requires independent work and technical decision-making in the field, focusing on maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical distribution systems including substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relay systems, battery and UPS systems, and transformers up to 138kV.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, lead, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance based on established procedures.
• Conduct predictive maintenance activities such as IR Thermography, Transformer Oil Analysis, Partial Discharge Analysis, and Power Quality Analysis.
• Work independently in the field and make technical decisions and recommendations.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance of medium voltage (5 kV to 15kV) electrical systems in an industrial environment.
• Experience as a field service engineer, technician, electrician, or power distribution technician.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for industrial electrical systems.
• Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
• Experience using computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or 2 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial environment.
• Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of medium voltage (5 kV to 15kV) industrial electrical systems.
• Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
• Understanding of control and instrumentation systems in an industrial environment.
• Experience using CMMS systems such as Infor EAM.
