About the position
The Electrical Engineering Intern position at ATI Cudahy Operations offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to gain hands-on experience in the materials science industry. Interns will work closely with a team of experienced Electrical Engineers, Designers, and Drafters, receiving mentorship and task assignments that will enhance their understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
Responsibilities
- Work with a group of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and Drafters, receiving task assignments and mentorship.
- Learn to meet functional requirements while adhering to departmental values and goals.
- Assist in ensuring design layouts are executed according to electrical engineering principles for various installations.
- Work from layouts, instructions, specifications, or other requirements to support design accuracy.
- Perform mathematical computations to ensure functional correctness of designs.
- Help create assembly and detailed drawings, prepare bills of material, and develop specification sheets and technical data.
- Assist in documentation and archiving of electrical/controls prints.
- Gain familiarity with working directly with outside contractors for project implementation and commissioning.
- Build resources to assist Maintenance with routine and emergency repairs of electrical systems.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Strong mathematical skills for computations and design accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous internship or project experience in electrical engineering or related fields.
- Familiarity with design software and tools used in electrical engineering.
