About the position
The Electrical Harness Design Engineer position at PlanIT Group LLC is focused on the development and production of electrical wiring schematics and diagrams for aerospace and aviation applications. The role requires extensive experience in electrical design, particularly using Siemens XVE Capital tools, and involves collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure proper electrical loads and wiring requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Produce electrical wiring schematics and diagrams using Siemens Accelerator/XVE Capital.
- Support data handoff and coordination with the CAD team for Wire Harness Design.
- Establish electrical loads and wiring requirements for various subsystem components.
- Ensure familiarity with sizing primary and secondary power distribution wire IAW AS50881.
- Apply knowledge of EMI/EMC wiring requirements and cable shielding principles.
- Collaborate with Air Vehicle, Mission Systems, and Manufacturing during build and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in harness design.
- Experience with Siemens XVE Capital design tools (previously known as Mentor Graphics).
- Familiarity with electrical schematic and wire diagram development.
Nice-to-haves
- Clean-sheet design experience preferred.
- Previous aerospace experience.
- Experience producing harness assembly drawings using Siemens Capital-HarnessXC.
