About the position

As an Electrical Engineer Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will help address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients' needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch. You will be assigned to a functional area in: Substation, Transmission, Distribution, Power System Studies, Renewables, Conventional Generation, Gas Fuels and Chemicals, Nuclear, Mining, Water/Wastewater, Telecom/Electric Vehicle Charging, or Data Centers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of electrical engineering deliverables like reports, drawings, specifications, and studies.
  • Assist with the engineering analyses, designs, and report production.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables.
  • Organize and evaluate data, utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems.
  • Organize project materials, references, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Electrical Engineering program.
  • No experience required.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant coursework or knowledge in Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
  • Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides.
  • Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build relationships.
