About the position

Chen Moore and Associates (CMA) is seeking an entry-level or early-career Electrical Engineer to join their team in the Power Delivery industry. This role involves working on Transmission, Distribution, and Protection & Control projects for municipalities and investor-owned utilities in the Southeastern United States. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to quality while contributing to various aspects of electrical engineering design and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Work on various aspects of electrical engineering design, plan preparation, permitting, and construction oversight in a project team environment.
  • Contribute to projects by collecting existing utility data, performing modeling and simulation, and working on distribution, transmission, substation, and protection & controls.
  • Prepare project design drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Develop project-specific detail drawings and calculate project construction quantity estimates.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
  • Learn and adhere to client-specific standards and coordinate with team members and client representatives.
  • Travel periodically to project sites for field investigation and construction support.
  • Participate in project outlines, initiation, schedules, execution, and closeout.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or environmental engineering; a master's degree is a plus.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience working for a firm in the A/E/C industry.
  • Strong technical writing skills and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility, and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in engineering.
  • Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
