As an Electrical Design Project Engineer on our Power Supply Engineering Services team, you'll drive innovation in the renewable energy sector, ensuring sustainable and efficient electrical solutions that power the world around us.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of diverse electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar arrays, wind turbines, hydroelectric generators, and energy storage systems.
  • Drive creative design improvements and engineering solutions for renewable energy challenges.
  • Ensure the operation, reliability, and safety of renewable energy assets by adhering to regulatory standards and implementing innovative maintenance practices.
  • Maintain currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and apply professional knowledge of engineering processes and standards to assignments/projects.
  • Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables and lead smaller production teams.
  • Develop engineering solutions that meet technical requirements and follow sound engineering practice.
  • Assign tasks and coordinate with other internal/external team members on assigned projects.
  • Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes; assist with mentoring and recognition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in a related field for P2 level; two or fewer years for P1 level.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam strongly preferred for P2 level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an electrical engineering role in the electric power industry with a focus on electric power generation and related fields.
  • Intermediate knowledge of initiating electrical improvements and corrective actions for power plants, dams, and related facilities.
  • Intermediate knowledge in thermal, wind, and/or hydro generation areas; knowledge of substations preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of engineering and economic principles and concepts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of other engineering disciplines and ability to interpret engineering deliverable content.
  • Intermediate knowledge of company QA/QC process and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of construction feasibility and procurement/contract administration.
