About the position
The Electrical Design & Integration Engineer 4 position is a critical role focused on the development and maintenance of cable and wire harness detail and assembly designs. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in the context of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) and FAA regulations. The engineer will lead design reviews, analyze results, and provide engineering design dispositions on discrepancies such as rejection tags and production action requests. Additionally, the role involves documenting processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. The engineer will also be responsible for developing complex statements of work, metrics, schedules, and budgets, while performing technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. This position operates under minimal direction, requiring a high level of expertise and independence. As a Senior Electrical Design and Integration Engineer, the individual will serve as a subject matter expert on FAA EWIS Certification regulations, ensuring compliance with the latest changes and requirements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including electrical design engineers, systems engineers, and certification specialists, is essential to ensure that all electrical design and integration activities meet FAA EWIS Certification regulations throughout the aircraft development process. The engineer will review and analyze electrical wiring integration designs, provide guidance to electrical design engineers, and conduct thorough assessments of wiring integration plans to identify potential risks and non-compliance areas. Comprehensive documentation related to FAA EWIS Certification, including compliance reports and test plans, will also be a key responsibility. The engineer will collaborate with certification authorities and participate in certification audits and reviews, staying informed about industry trends and advancements in electrical wiring integration and FAA EWIS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.

Requirements
- FAA Electrical compliance and regulations expertise.
- Advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor’s degree).
- Typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
