The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Journeyman Electricians with a wide range of duties. Candidates must be currently enrolled in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with ABC.
Responsibilities
Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of breaker boxes, electrical outlets, light switches, lighting fixtures, electrical wiring, fuses, and other components of electrical systems.
Operate electrical equipment and tools such as hydraulic benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, volt meters, and testers.
Maintain accurate inventory of electrical parts, equipment, and related manuals.
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Requirements
A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
The ability to work 80.5 - 84 hours a week on a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x2 rotation is required.
Completion of the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with ABC or current enrollment in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with ABC is required.
A current North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required or must be able to obtain an NSTC card upon hire.
A current State of Alaska Electrical Trainee Card is required or must be able to obtain a State of Alaska Electrical Trainee Card upon hire.
Nice-to-haves
Two (2) years' experience working in a construction or industrial setting, the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, and/or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
