About the position

The Electric Project Management Supervisor will oversee a team of Project Managers responsible for managing electric transmission line and substation projects within PG&E's service territory. This role aims to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while fostering a culture of excellence in project management. The position is hybrid, allowing for remote work and requires strong leadership and technical skills to drive the team's success.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and drive culture change within T&S Project Management.
• Supervise 6-12 ESC Project Managers and contractors.
• Ensure projects are safely designed and constructed on time, on budget, and within scope.
• Manage and forecast project portfolio costs accurately.
• Respond to data requests on time and thoroughly.
• Identify and resolve project issues proactively.
• Work with client organizations to understand project scopes and assign Project Managers accordingly.
• Coach and develop Project Managers to improve their capabilities.
• Develop workload plans to balance internal and external resources.
• Establish Project Manager expectations, metrics, and tracking tools.
• Communicate expectations clearly to direct reports and manage performance as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of each Project Manager's portfolio, especially projects over $5 million.
• Foster a high morale team of professional Project Managers.
• Collaborate with other Supervisors to improve group operations and processes.
• Contribute to special assignments that enhance work group performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 6 years of project management or program management experience OR 3 years of supervisory experience in project management or construction management of Transmission/Distribution projects.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

• Knowledge of Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Union Contract.
• Ability to balance workloads and track progress for multiple Project Managers.
• Demonstrated leadership in driving work progress and improving processes.
• Knowledge of Generation Interconnection Projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Experience with project scheduling and Primavera software.
• Strong cost estimating skills and understanding of contingency cost estimating.
• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts for engineering, procurement, and construction services.
• Knowledge of electric transmission line and substation systems.
