EKT Inclusion Facilitator
About The Position
EKT is a two-week summer program at SUN schools that offers children and families a jump-start into a successful kindergarten year. The program focuses on academics, play, arts and music, exploration and developing friendships in an inclusive and joyful classroom. The program has two components: a two week program for incoming kindergarten students, and two classes offering family education sessions that are required. EKT partners with SUN and Multnomah County to offer the program. This role manages incoming ISFP/IEP plans, facilities family communication and works in the classroom to support EKT. This includes training staff on inclusion strategies to support EKT students. This role is in person during EKT programming.
Requirements
- State of Oregon TSPC license with proper endorsement, highly qualified status
- Current first-aid card
- Experience planning and implementing professional development
- Review all incoming IFSP/IEP plans for EKT
- Communicate with families to ensure smooth transition into EKT
Responsibilities
- Manages incoming ISFP/IEP plans
- Facilitates family communication
- Works in the classroom to support EKT
- Trains staff on inclusion strategies to support EKT students
- Plans, develops and supports inclusion strategies across program
- Works closely with Site Managers
- Communicates with EKT teachers about student needs
- Coordinates with feeding team
- Organizes and tracks inclusion support
