About The Position

WACKER is a global chemical manufacturer seeking an EI&C Technician on their CSR Asset Management Team at their site in Charleston, TN. The Asset Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing ITPMs and repairs on assets primarily within the Chlorosilane Reaction (CSR) area. The role focuses on ensuring the long-term reliability, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and production units. This includes managing the availability of operational spare parts and providing predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance services to maximize equipment uptime and ensure safe, regulatory-compliant operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, Journeyman (or higher-level education) in Electromechanical Technology or related field.
  • 3+ years overall professional experience in a technical/production environment.
  • 3+ years in a similar maintenance role within a chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Repair experience with gear drives, rigging, bearings, pumps, motors, instrumentation, electrical equipment and components, and complex equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain, inspect, align, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and systems.
  • Experience with bolted flange torquing procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical troubleshooting techniques and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of P&ID’s.
  • Strong multi-tasking competency.
  • Ability to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, vibration, wet and humid weather conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to tolerate occasionally loud noise levels.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb high ladders, walk out on platforms up to 40 meters, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and/or move more than 60 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close, color, distance, and depth perception.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent unrestricted basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with machine shop and fabrication shop equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform predictive, preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on area assets, including pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair mechanical plant equipment such as pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Perform routine electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Provide start-up support to CSR Operations.
  • Complete inspection reports and other required documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review jobs with supervisors, discussing repair issues and customer feedback.
  • Incorporate safe behavior into all activities and comply with safety and health policies.
  • Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, and other service units.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with WACKER'S policies and procedures.
  • Support electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation needs sitewide as needed.
