About The Position

Columbia Community Mental Health is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides services to individuals with mental, addiction and developmental disabilities. The EHR Training Specialist will apply adult learning methodologies to design, develop, deliver and support CCMH’s diverse end-users in the use of OCHIN Epic electronic health record (EHR). This position is responsible for developing training curriculum and training plans that ensure that the end users receive the initial and ongoing training needed to use the EHR system effectively and efficiently. This requires a coordinated and collaborative approach with key stakeholders across the organization. This position will also supply support backup to Support Specialists in end-user support as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare Administration or Information Technology related field or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing training solutions for clinical and/or business applications is required.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365 required.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows Operating Systems.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing adult training materials.
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize projects and to work independently as well as in a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management and staff required.
Ability to read and communicate in English language, and understand documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, finance reports, and legal documents.
Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to understand personal boundaries and how this impacts treatment.
Candidates must be legally employable by a U.S. business.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a health-care related environment involving the provision of Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred.
Certification in Adult Learning or as an Epic Trainer preferred.
Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.
This position requires within 6 months of hire successful completion of the Ochin Epic module trainings in all areas you will be training on.

Responsibilities

Develop engaging training materials, including user-friendly manuals, interactive presentations, and modules, tailored to the unique needs and workflows of different departments and job roles.
Conduct dynamic training sessions for new hires, existing staff, and departmental teams, covering essential functionalities of OCHIN Epic, such as patient charting, scheduling, billing, and reporting.
Collaborate closely with departmental managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs, prioritize initiatives, and align them with organizational goals and objectives.
Provide continuous support to staff members, addressing their questions, troubleshooting issues, and reinforcing best practices in EHR system utilization.
Regularly assess the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback sessions, and use insights to recommend improvements and optimize training content.
Keep abreast of new features, updates, and advancements in OCHIN Epic and integrate relevant information into training materials and sessions.
Act as a liaison between CCMH and OCHIN Epic support resources, coordinating additional training opportunities and resolving escalated issues promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
