The Office of Publications and Creative Services, located in Salem and supports the Oregon Department of Human Services and Oregon Health Authority, is looking for 2 (two) talented individuals to serve as an Electronic Publications eForms Designer position. In this role, you will coordinate, create, and support contract designers or staff designers producing eForms, online form solutions, and printed materials.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
  • Six years of graphic arts production experience, two years of which include providing direct technical consultation to customers and coordinating graphics design projects through to completion.
  • Successful applicants will have experience in color separation and correction, technical illustration, or graphics or web software.
  • Minimum 4 years expert-level designing interactive PDF forms using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce: Interactive, digitally accessible PDF forms that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 to meet federal digital accessibility standards.
  • Strong visual design solutions grounded in effective hierarchy, layout, color contrast, and typography, while maintaining adherence to established brand guidelines.
  • Proficient with software essential to success in this role, including Microsoft 365 applications, Adobe Workfront, PAC 2024, CommonLook PDF, Adobe Experience Manager Forms (AEM Forms), and AEM Designer (formerly Adobe LiveCycle).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, stay self‑motivated, and prioritize tasks to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Experience with collaborative teamwork, including partnering with cross‑functional teams, contributing to group problem‑solving efforts, sharing information proactively, and maintaining clear, effective communication to support common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, design and oversee production of complex and time sensitive projects and comprehensive outreach campaigns and digital solutions with customers.
  • Serve as project lead working directly with other team members, customer, vendors, private and public organizations or businesses, and the customer service representatives to ensure established deadlines are met.
  • Troubleshoot digital solutions to solve technical production issues and may serve as project coordinator directly overseeing several team members' work throughout a project.
  • Design, produce and coordinate the printing of major department publications and forms.
  • Consult with and advise program staff and EPDS1 and EPDS2’s on the concept and desired look-and-feel for all types of publications and forms.
  • Produce and direct custom graphics for a variety of publications using traditional tools such as pen-and-ink,
  • Train ODHS and OHA staff about branding, business card ordering, and project ordering procedures established by the PDS director, client feedback and the section’s team.
  • Conduct training classes by presenting job-specific, agency-specific and generic software applications (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and so on).
