About the position

The position involves working as an Educational Diagnostician within the Taylor-Callahan Education Cooperative. The role requires participation in the Admission, Review, Dismissal (ARD) Committee process, providing professional development, and offering consultation to support special education services across various districts. The individual will be responsible for managing schedules, meetings, and legal paperwork while maintaining effective communication with students, parents, and school personnel. The position also includes training and supervising paraprofessionals and requires travel to member districts.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Admission, Review, Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and complete required paperwork for ARD.
  • Perform professional development as a trainer/coach for district/campus professionals as requested by Executive Director.
  • Provide school level consultation to support districts/campuses on the various systems of supports for special education services.
  • Possess knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern special education.
  • Have knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, state assessment requirements, and special education services.
  • Understand and have the skills to maintain an involved schedule, manage and schedule meetings, and complete required legal paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate effectively, constructively, and positively with students and parents.
  • Interact positively and effectively with school personnel as an effective team member.
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and/or schedule for teacher, aide, student, and district personnel.
  • Manage and coordinate required meetings/conferences and paperwork.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate paraprofessionals when applicable.
  • Complete, monitor, and/or forward pupil data as required.
  • Participate as a member of district or departmental team in improving service delivery.
  • Travel to CoOp member districts as required.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • SBOEC Certified Educational Diagnostician.
  • ARD Manager/Facilitator certification.
  • SBOEC Special Education Teacher certification.
