El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) is an organization dedicated to supporting individuals in achieving their full potential. For nearly 40 years, EPHC has been committed to advancing racial equity and social justice by leveraging its Latine roots, culture, and community. This mission drives EPHC's response to local needs, addressing social determinants of health through its program areas: Housing, Economic Sustainability, Education, Community Wellness, and DV/SA Prevention and Intervention. EPHC serves over 30,000 individuals annually with more than 100 staff members, most of whom are bilingual and over 93% bicultural. While affiliated with the Catholic Charities Network, EPHC welcomes individuals of all faiths or no faith, emphasizing respect for the mission, human dignity, and the common good. The EKT Educational Assistant (EA) will support the Early Kindergarten Transition Program under the supervision of the EKT Teacher and SUN Site Manager. The EA will assist the EKT Teacher in all program aspects, work with small groups and individual students, and aid in recruitment during a two-week summer program at the SUN Community School. The program is designed to give children and families a strong start for kindergarten, focusing on academics, social-emotional learning (SEL), play, arts, music, exploration, and friendship development in a joyful and inclusive setting. SUN Community Schools function as social service hubs, empowering students, families, and communities through culturally specific advocacy, high-quality programming, and leadership opportunities.
