About The Position

Canva is seeking an Education Solutions Engineer to streamline the technical integration experience for educational institutions like school districts, ministries of education, and universities, as well as strategic education partners. This role involves collaborating with Product, Engineering, Support, and Sales & Success teams to address challenges in authentication, SSO, rostering, provisioning, and Learning Management System (LMS) integrations. The engineer will identify technical obstacles, develop scalable solutions, and contribute to processes, documentation, and product enhancements to support education customers effectively. Additionally, they will act as a technical advisor for customers with complex integration needs, managing discovery, troubleshooting, and solution scoping with engineering teams. The role also includes managing technical relationships with key education technology partners to expand the integration ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:
- Addressing technical onboarding and integration issues for education customers globally, focusing on SSO, authentication, rostering, provisioning, and LMS connectivity.
- Collaborating with Product and Engineering to design and implement scalable solutions for improved onboarding and adoption.
- Serving as the technical lead for strategic educational institutions with complex integration requirements.
- Supporting the design, testing, and rollout of custom solutions for unique customer technology environments.
- Managing technical partnerships with education technology providers (LMS, authentication, rostering).
- Developing documentation, processes, and training for Support and Success teams.
- Translating customer needs into product feedback to influence Canva's education integration roadmap.
- Identifying trends in customer requests and technical challenges to drive product improvements and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Deep experience working with authentication, identity management, rostering, LMS platforms, or enterprise software integrations.
• Comfortable discussing technologies such as SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, LTI, OneRoster, APIs, and enterprise provisioning systems.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-technical audiences.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to identify scalable solutions to technical, operational, and customer challenges.
• Comfortable troubleshooting customer issues, collaborating with engineers, and presenting recommendations to leadership.
• Passion for helping educators and students succeed through technology.
• Willingness to work flexibly across time zones to support global customers and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the education technology sector.
• Familiarity with K-12 or higher education deployment lifecycles.
• Experience with B2B SaaS product deployments.
