About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and advise on Voluntary Education opportunities, the Military Tuition Assistance (MilTA) program, career and force development programs, testing, and other education and training services and activities available to military members, Department of Defense (DoD) civilians and family members.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual career, academic, and force development advisement services to military personnel, dependents, and civilian personnel pursuing Voluntary Education opportunities.
  • Serves as technical expert on a variety of Voluntary Education programs.
  • Provides advisement and coordination on the SkillBridge program.
  • Provides mass briefings and a variety of outreach and customer services duties.
  • Performs various administrative duties related to the Voluntary Education program.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station
  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional knowledge of education theories, principles, procedures, and practices of secondary, adult, or continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of various educational testing methodologies
  • Ability to interpret agencies' directives, instructions, and guidance
