About the position

The Education Instructor at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum plays a vital role in advancing the museum's educational and community engagement missions. This position involves developing and implementing educational programs for K-12 students and community members, ensuring alignment with educational standards. The instructor will facilitate in-museum programs, support outreach initiatives, and contribute to creating engaging experiences for diverse audiences, all while embodying the museum's core values of inclusivity and fan engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates in-museum programs for students such as Rock Hall EDU and community events.
  • Contributes to the onsite teacher and student experience, including program registration and communications.
  • Supports the creation and distribution of Rock Hall EDU materials related to Education Department activities.
  • Works with the Education team to deliver ongoing activities of the Howley Learning Center.
  • Collaborates with education and fan engagement teams to lead Fan Engagement activations.
  • Serves as a key representative of the Rock Hall's Education and Community team at offsite events and media outlets.
  • Engages audiences with a love of music and people, setting a strong example of quality service.
  • Identifies and communicates new ideas to improve educational impact with leadership teams.
  • Assists in creating and facilitating programming for visiting partner institutions and summer camps.
  • Supports professional development opportunities for teachers and educators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, music, child development, museum administration or related field required.
  • A minimum of two years' professional experience leading educational programs for K-12 students.
  • Experience teaching in a classroom or community/museum setting.
  • Experience creating educational materials and curriculum, including digital materials.
  • Possess a passion for customer service and rock and roll, and an ability to get along with people.
  • Bilingual capabilities are helpful.

Nice-to-haves

  • Music performance experience preferred.
  • Experience working with community organizations and schools to coordinate programming.
  • Emotional intelligence skills.
