About The Position

The Educational Developmental Assistant-Lead (EDA-Lead) provides coverage, administrative oversight and program compliance for the Education Enrichment Centers (EEC) across campus regarding the implementation of programming for all participating residents. This position directly supervises EEC Educational Development Assistants. The EDA-Lead is directly responsible for daily staff monitoring, training, scheduling and monitoring of program compliance. The EDA-Lead should be familiar with hiring processes, NCVIP completion, scheduling procedures and possess effective supervision and organizational skills. The person will be responsible for staff training/in-services, monitoring, observations, counseling, coaching and staff evaluations. The EDA-Lead will monitor resident engagement, participation, active treatment and operational efficiency of the Education Enrichment Centers. The role requires considerable knowledge of administrative and office techniques, instructional techniques, behavior management techniques and knowledge of characteristics of adult IID, autism and behaviorally challenged populations.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in a related setting that requires goal development, instruction, observation and documentation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven supervisory and leadership experience - including the use of effective communication skills (both receptive and expressive) in order to receive and give feedback to ensure program, policy, and center compliance.
  • Proven history of programming experience including instructional techniques, providing responses to instruction, and teaching strategies for use with students with autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral management needs.
  • Ability to effectively train, provide real-time modeling/coaching, and monitor programming to cultivate high quality outcomes between staff and individuals served.
