About the position
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager in the overall operations of their assigned unit. This role involves demonstrating critical thinking skills, managing resources for quality performance, and ensuring compliance with hospital guidelines. The ANM is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional team in delivering services to patients, while also participating in customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.
Responsibilities
- Support the Nurse Manager in overall operations of the assigned unit.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and manage resources to achieve quality performance.
- Coach, mentor, and lead a professional and technical team in service delivery.
- Assure quality of care is delivered to patients and accept a patient workload when needed.
- Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships.
- Monitor performance of staff and report findings to the Nurse Manager.
- Participate in the interview process and make recommendations regarding employee reassignment and coaching.
Requirements
- Active Florida RN license required or active multi-state RN license.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Emergency Room experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's (BSN) degree.
- National certification in areas of practice.
