About The Position

Natural Resource Solutions Inc. (NRSI) is seeking a qualified Ecological Project Manager with demonstrated experience in providing ecological services to join their growing team. The role includes managing and coordinating ecological monitoring programs and conducting impact assessments for renewable energy facilities, along with supporting a variety of other ecological projects. This position would primarily support NRSI's Renewable Energy service team and provides a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to join a leading and well-respected environmental consulting firm with established clients and ongoing projects across Canada. The successful applicant will be based out of the Waterloo, Ontario office and will be expected to regularly contribute to both field and office-based tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience, preferably in environmental consulting.
  • Technical expertise in at least one ecological field, or expertise across a broad range of taxa.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • At least 21 years old in order to drive a rental vehicle
  • Access to a personal vehicle insured for work purposes
  • Able to reliably commute on a regular basis to the work location

Nice To Haves

  • Ecological project management expertise pertaining to renewable energy developments.
  • Experience coordinating fieldwork programs.
  • Experience preparing ecological proposals and budgets.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with, species monitoring protocols and other guidelines pertaining to renewable energy developments.
  • Experience completing surveys for wildlife in Ontario.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing ecological monitoring reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate ecological projects, including multi-year projects containing several seasonal survey types and/or with complex site or regulatory processes.
  • Managing and tracking project budgets.
  • Preparing and managing proposals.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory permits.
  • Completing data entry and analysis.
  • Communicating with clients and/or agencies.
  • Completing ecological monitoring reports following applicable regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
