About The Position

As an Ecological Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Cleveland, OH office, you’ll join a new and growing team. You will provide leadership within project teams to help our clients in the power, oil & natural gas, and varied commercial markets achieve their project and operational objectives. You'll supervise staff ecologists and environmental scientists and lead projects. CEC's corporate Ecological Practice accounts for a significant portion of our annual revenues, making it an essential part of the integrated services that we offer to our clients. CEC's Ecological Practice distinguishes itself from the service offerings of other firms because of the breadth of our technical expertise including: wetland and stream delineations and permitting; compensatory mitigation; threatened & endangered species surveys and compliance; ecosystem restoration; and environmental planning (NEPA and FERC). The corporate practice group works cooperatively across all CEC offices to bring the necessary ecological expertise to our clients' specific project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental or natural resources program such as Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Fisheries or a similar technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental planning (NEPA/FERC); wetland and stream delineations, permitting, and mitigation; threatened & endangered species consultations and surveys; or ecosystem restoration
  • Ability and willingness to develop, market, and expand CEC’s services to existing and new clients, particularly Electric Transmission/Distribution and Fiber Optic clients
  • Experience in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and/or West Virginia state and federal permitting
  • Ability and willingness to provide mentorship to junior staff of ecologists
