About the position

The ECMH Fee for Service Clinician at Northside Center for Child Development is responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to children and families, particularly focusing on those affected by adversity. This role involves delivering individual, family, and group therapy, as well as case management and crisis intervention, to support clients in overcoming challenges related to poverty and racism. The position emphasizes clinical growth and offers opportunities for training in various therapeutic modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual play therapy, family therapy, and group therapy to clients including pregnant parents, post-partum parents, children aged 0-5, and children/teens aged 6-18.
  • Conduct therapy sessions both in person and via teletherapy.
  • Provide case management and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Complete ongoing documentation in electronic records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments.
  • Work evenings to accommodate after-school appointments.
  • Be on-site at least 1-2 days per week at the Lower East Side, Manhattan location based on client needs.

Requirements

  • LMHC, LMSW/LCSW, or Ph.D./Psy.D. required.
  • Current NYS clinical license required.
  • Experience in play therapy and working with children and families.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Perinatal Child Parent Psychotherapy (PCPP).
  • Familiarity with Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Circle of Security Parenting.
