About the position

The Cardiovascular Sonographer position at Knox Community Hospital involves performing various cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations. Responsibilities

  • Perform various cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations.
  • Document findings accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
  • Assess patients and provide preliminary findings to physicians when appropriate.
  • Utilize independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high-quality diagnostic information.
  • Participate in mandatory in-services, staff meetings, educational programs, committees, and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain unit functions and demonstrate initiative in personal and professional development.
  • Assist with cost control through judicious use of resources.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
  • Valid ARDMS (RVT and/or RDCS) or CCI (RCS and/or RVS) certification or registry eligible.
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification required.
  • Knowledge of professional CV Sonographer role and scope of practice.
  • Knowledge of current trends and standards of care in cardiovascular ultrasound.
  • Knowledge of equipment specific to cardiovascular ultrasound.
  • Demonstration of effective problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstration of positive customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Basic computer skills.
