About the position

The Echo Tech position at Saint Joseph Medical Center involves utilizing ultrasound technology to visualize and assess internal cardiac structures. The role supports physicians during complex ultrasound procedures and ensures the efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department through effective clerical management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Uses ultrasound to visualize internal cardiac structures and obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricle, and left atrium.
• Visualizes blood flow during ultrasound procedures.
• Assists the physician with complex ultrasound procedures.
• Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department through appropriate clerical functions, including document handling and interpersonal relationships.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of Echocardiogram program certification preferred.
• EKG rhythm analysis / interpretation certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
• Able to assist physician with TEE testing preferred.
• Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred.
• Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred.
• Registered Echocardiographer preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI credential required.
• Able to perform stress testing preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Completion of Echocardiogram program certification preferred.
