ECHO Technologist - Cardiovascular Non-Invasive

About the position

The Echo Technologist oversees technical procedures, patient care and work flows in the echocardiography laboratory. Perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing. Assist performing physicians and sonographers in providing high quality echocardiographic exams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical procedures and patient care in the echocardiography laboratory.
• Perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing.
• Assist physicians and sonographers in providing high quality echocardiographic exams.
• Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
• Critique positioning, technical factors, and alignment to demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards.
• Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Document studies accurately and completely.
• Cross-train to other divisions of CV Services.
• Administer contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
• Complete documentation of studies performed and charges in Epic and preliminary info in Xcelera system for Physician reading.
• Participate in a rotation of call through the week and on weekends with other team members.
• Provide compassionate care and quality studies to patients.
• Perform all forms of Echo testing (Exercise Stress; Dobutamine stress; Echoes; Pediatric echoes; Transesophageal echoes) in a timely fashion.
• Seek to advance knowledge in all aspects of Echo with an open mind to constructive learning and teaching.

Requirements

• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Associate's Degree in Sonography or equivalent experience.
