About the position

The Registered Echocardiographer at Harrison County Hospital is responsible for interpreting physician requests and performing ultrasound procedures to produce quality images. This per diem position requires conducting exams with a focus on patient safety and comfort, while also supporting the Diagnostic Imaging and Hospital customer service program. The role may involve additional duties as necessary to enhance departmental productivity and requires flexibility to work any part of a 24-hour shift as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret physician's requests for echocardiograms.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures to produce quality images.
  • Conduct exams ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Support the Diagnostic Imaging and Hospital customer service program.
  • Assume additional duties to enhance departmental functions and productivity.
  • Render quality patient care in accordance with hospital policies.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved Ultrasound program.
  • Registration with ARDMS or ARRT must be obtained within 1 year of meeting eligibility requirements.
  • Competence in Echo/Ultrasound procedures.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
