As an Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic, you will be part of a team that provides in-school early intervention specialized services for children ages 4-21 years. You will plan, schedule, and provide weekly early educational services for a caseload of children/adolescents with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. This position starts as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week) with the potential to build up to full-time hours depending on availability and caseload in the area. Coverage area includes Trona, Ridgecrest, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational services for a caseload of children/adolescents with disabilities.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development for each individual child.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting and child development.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child's progress with the family and school team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree or some college in Early Childhood education or Human Development is highly desired.
  • One year experience working with infants/toddlers/school-age children or youth and their parents/guardians preferred.
  • Valid CA driver's license in good standing; must have been a licensed driver for at least one year.
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships with a compassionate approach.
  • Availability during typical school-time days and hours (Mon-Fri during the day time).
  • Must be able to pass state and federal background checks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Candidates with Bachelor's degrees will be able to gain more hours.
