About the position

The Early Intervention Specialist-Provider role involves performing complex social services work, serving as a liaison between clients and their families to obtain assistance and rehabilitative treatment. The position requires a strong commitment to ethical standards and effective communication, as well as the ability to manage cases and coordinate services for children and families. The specialist will work under general supervision, with opportunities to train others and contribute to a transdisciplinary team focused on the development of children aged 0-3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity.
  • Interact effectively with all customers, both internally and externally.
  • Provide case management as a single point of contact for a child's family to coordinate services.
  • Conduct monthly IFSP monitoring contacts for each child on the caseload.
  • Work as part of a transdisciplinary team to provide assessments and evaluations for referred children.
  • Develop, review, and update IFSPs with the child's transdisciplinary team.
  • Provide specialized skills training to parents using coaching models.
  • Deliver a minimum of 75-80 hours of planned services each month.
  • Ensure timely initiation of services as per IFSP requirements.
  • Document all services provided, including ongoing progress notes and case management notes.
  • Participate in professional development and training as required.
  • Support and mentor other ECI staff and contribute to community training efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or at least 18 hours of college credits relevant to Early Childhood Intervention, including 3 hours in Child Development.
  • Experience with young children is preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in early childhood intervention or related fields.
  • Bilingual skills for providing support in languages other than English.
