About the position
The Early Childhood Educator/Classroom position at Lambton College Community Employment Services involves working within the Head Start/Day Care program to assist in delivering a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate education program for families and children aged 0 to five years. The role requires collaboration with center staff and other service providers to ensure a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate education program for children aged 0 to five years.
- Collaborate with center staff and other service providers to support children's learning and development.
- Work with families and the community in a sensitive and confidential manner.
- Respond to emergency or crisis situations as they arise.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, as required.
Requirements
- Early Childhood Educator Diploma
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid Criminal Reference Clearance and Vulnerable Person's Check
- Proof of Up-to-date Immunization Record
- Provide an up-to-date Health Assessment
- Valid driver's license and own transportation (an asset)
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Aboriginal Head Start components
- Knowledge of the Ojibwe culture and language
- Knowledgeable of resources available to children 0-6 years of age and their families
