The Early Childhood Development Specialist (ECDS) position at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is focused on providing high-quality, individualized care and developmental intervention for young children with special healthcare needs. The role is part of the Kids First team in Little Rock, AR, which is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through collaborative health care practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental intervention for young children with special healthcare needs.
• Administer standardized developmental testing instruments.
• Build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality care.
• Document and maintain records of children's progress and interventions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Early Childhood or Early Childhood Special Education Certificate, or a Child Development Associate Certificate, or Birth to Pre-K Credential with specific experience and coursework requirements.
• 12 hours of experience working with children with special needs.
• 6 months documented experience working with children.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of developmental milestones in the birth-five population.
