About the position

The Early Childhood Behavior & Disabilities Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting children with behavioral, emotional, developmental, or social challenges within the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This position focuses on providing direct classroom support, developing tailored behavior intervention plans, and collaborating with teachers and families to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support in classrooms to children with behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans tailored to individual children's needs.
  • Engage and support families in understanding and addressing their child's challenges.
  • Conduct staff training and professional development on behavior management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote positive behavior management techniques.
  • Document interventions and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young children, particularly those with behavioral or developmental challenges.
