About The Position

The World Bank Group (WBG) is seeking an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to support the Health Learning and Knowledge Program (LAKP) and Global Program teams. This role will focus on implementing the knowledge strategy by transforming technical and operational experience into usable insights, improving knowledge flow and reuse, and strengthening collaboration and learning. The ETC will act as a bridge between knowledge management and communications, ensuring internal efforts are aligned, coherent, and effective at scale. The position involves making knowledge actionable, optimizing knowledge flow and channels, advancing internal communications and engagement, developing storytelling and multimedia content, supporting AI readiness for knowledge management, and ensuring coordination and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in communications, knowledge management, international development, public policy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in knowledge management, communications, learning, or related areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to distill complex technical content into clear, concise, and actionable messages.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with experience managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and delivery timelines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively across technical, operational, and communications teams, including engagement with senior staff.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to internal knowledge platforms, SharePoint sites, or enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and/or produce multimedia content (e.g., videos, podcasts, visuals) in support of knowledge and learning objectives.
  • Solid familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools and digital collaboration environments.
  • Practical understanding of AI enabled tools for content creation, synthesis, and knowledge work; ability to apply these tools responsibly is an advantage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with global knowledge and learning programs is highly desirable.
  • Background in global health, with familiarity with the World Bank Group’s health priorities and targets, is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the transformation of technical and analytical outputs into clear, accessible, and actionable knowledge products for internal staff and, where appropriate, external audiences.
  • Package knowledge into practical formats (e.g., briefs, syntheses, visual summaries, toolkits, and targeted multimedia assets) that support operations, learning, and decision making.
  • Apply light touch curation, quality standards, and usability principles to improve the findability, coherence, and reuse of health knowledge resources, including contributions to the quality and consistency of Knowledge 360.
  • Coordinate publication related support across teams in collaboration with relevant focal points, ensuring fit for purpose dissemination and alignment with agreed priorities.
  • Strengthen end to end knowledge flows across multiple channels, including internal platforms, email communications, events, and digital collaboration spaces.
  • Improve the coherence, sequencing, and targeting of knowledge dissemination to reduce fragmentation and duplication.
  • Facilitate the continuous improvement of SharePoint based and other internal knowledge spaces, with a strong focus on user experience, integration across tools, and sustainability.
  • Advance the implementation of knowledge focused internal communications plans, in close alignment with health priorities.
  • Coordinate the design, facilitation, and stewardship of unit wide engagement spaces (e.g., Viva Engage and similar forums) that promote knowledge exchange, peer learning, and collaboration.
  • Manage Monthly Updates and other recurring internal communications products, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with health priorities.
  • Facilitate and support internal knowledge sharing events, clinics, communities of practice, and related engagement activities.
  • Serve as a key connecting point between the LAKP team and the Front Office to ensure consistent, timely, and strategically aligned internal communications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including vendors and service providers, to support delivery of knowledge and communications activities.
  • Strengthen internal storytelling by translating technical work, operational experience, and lessons learned into compelling and concise narratives.
  • Coordinate and, where appropriate, produce multimedia content (e.g., short videos, podcasts, visuals, interactive formats) that highlight learning, innovation, and impact.
  • Ensure that curated stories and multimedia outputs are systematically integrated into Knowledge 360 and other internal knowledge channels.
  • Support the advancement of AI readiness for knowledge work, with a focus on practical, value adding applications for knowledge management.
  • Facilitate internal awareness raising, learning activities, and light guidance related to the responsible and effective use of AI enabled tools for knowledge discovery, synthesis, and reuse.
  • Help coordinate multiple knowledge management and communications workstreams, ensuring timely delivery, coherence across activities, and consistent quality standards.
  • Track progress across assigned activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of knowledge management and communications practices.
