About the position
SRSU seeks qualified, adjunct/part-time instructors to teach dual credit students enrolled in freshman- and sophomore-level university courses in Art Appreciation. The position involves teaching online, synchronous courses at a variety of days and times, creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material, using a course syllabus for each course following established institutional guidelines, evaluating students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. The position is security sensitive, and the instructor is responsible for personal safety and the safety of others, exercising due caution and practicing safe work habits at all times.
Responsibilities
- Teach online, synchronous courses at a variety of days and times
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Use a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
Requirements
- Master's degree in Art or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Art
- Classroom teaching experience
