About the position

The Driver Trainee position at CEVA Logistics is designed for recent CDL school graduates with less than six months of driving experience. This role involves a comprehensive 5 to 6-week training program focused on safe and efficient tractor-trailer operation, preparing trainees to transport cargo to various destinations. The program emphasizes hands-on training and adherence to company values and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Trip Inspections
• Loading Procedures
• Unloading
• Back up to the dock
• Perform walk around inspections
• Highway Operations - Be familiar with the loading locations
• City and Rural Driving
• Tight Right and Left Turns

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be twenty-one years of age or older
• Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy
• Must meet the physical requirements established by the DOT and have or be able to provide a current valid medical card
• Minimum one year industry experience preferred
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
• Ability to operate a dolly, forklift, hand trucks, lift-gate and pallet jacks
• Ability to read and interpret maps
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs
• Ability to understand highway traffic signals and signs
• Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents
• Effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
• Balances team and individual responsibilities
• Consistently at work and on-time
