About the position
The Draftsman / Mechanical Designer at Thomas Sign & Awning is responsible for creating technical drawings and designs that align with client branding strategies. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects while ensuring accuracy in engineering drawings and specifications related to sign manufacturing and installation.
Responsibilities
- Translate client needs and branding strategy into design strategy.
- Interpret designs and engineering drawings.
- Review dimensions and other criteria, including spelling.
- Confirm that final drawings match the work orders.
- Prepare drawings for production.
- Demonstrate creativity skills with attention to detail.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Utilize solid understanding of math as it relates to dimensions and measurements.
- Read a ruler/tape measure accurately.
- Think in a three-dimensional manner.
Requirements
- Experience working with CorelDRAW or similar program.
- Previous construction/design/manufacturing experience is helpful.
