About The Position

Seeking a college student for an internship pursuing a degree in a drafting related field. This internship involves establishing a database for CAD files, evaluating and editing drafting nomenclature protocols, and working with various engineering and maintenance managers to retrieve, review, edit, and file drawings. The intern will also research and recommend long-term CAD database solutions and assist engineers with line layouts by preparing design versions.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a college degree in a drafting related field.

Responsibilities

Establish a database / shared drive for all CAD files.
Determine plant priority / schedule.
Evaluate and edit the draft nomenclature protocols.
Work with Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the assigned category, plant process engineer, plant engineer, and/or plant maintenance manager to retrieve all drawings related to target plant(s) from personal computers and jump drives.
Review, edit, rename as appropriate and file in database.
Receive hardcopies, scan them using plotter, edit as required, and save to the database.
Research and evaluate available CAD databases on the market.
Provide a recommendation, including costs, on a long-term solution.
Assist engineers with potential line layouts.
Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers.
