About the position
The Domestic Violence Group Facilitator at LSS of South Dakota is responsible for leading evidence-based group sessions for individuals who have engaged in domestic violence. This role focuses on encouraging accountability and motivating change to help end the cycle of abuse. The facilitator will also provide case management services to individuals recently released from prison or jail, assessing their needs and making appropriate referrals.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly evidence-based group sessions for individuals using domestic violence and power and control tactics.
- Provide case management services to individuals released from prison and jail.
- Assess potential client needs and make appropriate referrals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred; alternative education and/or experience will be considered.
- Prior experience working with domestic violence situations and facilitating group sessions preferred.
- Experience with the court system involving families, victims, and offenders is beneficial.
- Must successfully complete all agency background checks.
- Requires a valid driver's license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
