About the position

The Dog Daycare Assistant at Nicole's Doggy Daycare is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, cleanliness, and happiness of all dogs in the daycare facility. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animals and thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing a rewarding opportunity to work closely with dogs and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor dogs in the daycare facility to ensure their safety and well-being
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and common spaces
• Assist with feeding and watering dogs according to their specific dietary needs
• Possibly administer medications or treatments to dogs as directed by their owners or veterinarians
• Monitor dog behavior and address any signs of aggression or distress
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and providing updates on the dogs' activities
• Ensure that all dogs are properly identified and that their records are accurately maintained

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a kennel, dog training facility, veterinary clinic, or as a veterinary assistant/technician is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of dog behavior, breeds, and basic care requirements
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
• Comfortable with heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)
