About the position

The Doctoral Fellowship in Law and Inequality is designed to support original and significant empirical and interdisciplinary research on the study of law and inequality. This fellowship, offered by the American Bar Foundation, provides a stipend for doctoral candidates who have completed all requirements except their dissertation, encouraging their academic and professional development in the field of law and social science.

Responsibilities

  • Participate fully in the academic life of the American Bar Foundation (ABF).
  • Develop close collegial ties with ABF faculty and other scholars in residence.
  • Conduct original research related to law and inequality.
  • Attend and present at conferences, including the Law & Society Association's Annual Conference and Early Career Workshop.

Requirements

  • Must be a doctoral student who is a candidate for a Ph.D. degree.
  • Completion of all doctoral requirements except the dissertation by September 1, 2025.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a research career in law and social science.
