About the position

The District Support Pharmacist at CVS Health plays a critical role in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency within the pharmacy. This position involves leading and managing pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering exceptional customer service. The pharmacist will also be responsible for motivating and developing pharmacy support staff, managing inventory, and driving financial profitability while maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff.
  • Oversee the management and operation of all aspects within the pharmacy.
  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with pharmacy professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality assurance measures and enhance customer service.
  • Manage personnel and inventory effectively to optimize pharmacy operations.
  • Drive financial profitability and loss prevention strategies.
  • Lead patient care programs to keep customers healthy and engaged.
  • Motivate and develop Pharmacy Support Staff by balancing assignments and addressing development opportunities.
  • Identify business opportunities and contribute to meaningful solutions for growth and performance improvement.
  • Adapt to changes in the community healthcare setting and adjust plans accordingly.

Requirements

  • Active Pharmacy License in the state of employment.
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
  • Free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree.
