About the position

The District Grant Manager at the Oregon Department of Education is a permanent position responsible for supporting grant making, reporting, and monitoring processes within the Office of Education Innovation and Improvement. This role involves synthesizing data related to various educational programs, maintaining relationships with local agencies and grant recipients, and ensuring the effective implementation of educational initiatives. The position embraces a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work while requiring in-office presence as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support grant making, reporting, and monitoring processes for the Office of Education Innovation and Improvement.
  • Synthesize data related to EII programs.
  • Administer and monitor implementation for EII programs.
  • Maintain relationships with members from local agencies, community organizations, grant recipients, and various program partners.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience coordinating or administering a program, or equivalent experience totaling five years.
  • Experience developing or coordinating a standalone program providing services to external entities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and methods governing grant administration.
  • Knowledge of financial methods and practices to assess the financial stability of grantees.
  • Grant management and monitoring experience in an educational setting.
  • Expertise in education, administration, leadership, or a closely related field.
  • Understanding of program monitoring and evaluation principles and methods.
  • Experience with automated data systems and software such as spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with culturally and individually diverse groups.
