About the position
Wausau Supply Co. is seeking a Backup Driver/Warehouse Material Handler to join our team. This position involves distributing building materials from leading manufacturers to authorized retailers across a wide territory. The role requires a combination of driving and warehouse duties, ensuring that products are picked, loaded, and delivered safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a professional image, adhering to safety regulations, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Use of hand held computer to receive incoming and outgoing freight
- Picking product for Customer Orders and staging for loading
- Loading orders on semi-trucks
- Unloading stock onto racking
- Inspect truck for defects before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition
- Check Load and secure to D.O.T. Regulations
- Drive truck safely and legally to customer locations and return
- Open curtains, unstrap product, count and check product for damage and shortages
- Assist receivers in unloading and loading the truck
- Maintain driver logs and inspection reports according to D.O.T. regulations
- Maintain a professional image at all times
- Be forklift certified to aid in loading, unloading, and general warehouse work
- Work flexible schedule
Requirements
- Good to Exceptional Mathematic skills
- Reading / Comprehension skills
- Punctual, Self-Motivated and Reliable
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills
- Exceptional Organizational Skills
- Possess a Class A CDL with air brake endorsement
- Pass a D.O.T. Physical
- Pass a DOT Pre-employment drug test
- Be forklift certified
