Supports the Distribution department by providing work floor direction and acting as a process and mechanical expert for the area. This role involves giving work direction on the floor, serving as a process and mechanical expert, monitoring process flow, assisting with material handling and processes, troubleshooting technical and product quality issues, and acting as a backup for distribution coordinators. The position also includes training distribution coordinators and assisting with other training, performing tasks to ensure departmental productivity, verifying and maintaining physical inventories and ERP inventory systems, checking daily orders, managing supplies, and communicating with other departments regarding material and product flow to meet customer demand. Additionally, the role involves addressing unsafe work practices, monitoring cleanups, assisting in the development of preventive maintenance, conducting safety checks for forklifts, energetic safety, and transportation equipment, monitoring and helping develop training materials and SOPs, ensuring new employees are properly trained, and following up on changes to Standard Works and SOPs. The Distribution Lead also serves on technical problem-solving task forces, is involved in the implementation of new processes, monitors hold or special process product, and acts as a reference for quality issues. While a backup for production reporting/payroll, this role does not have approval capabilities. Non-essential duties include backup for on-the-road transport of product between buildings and assisting with moving trailers. As an essential function, good attendance is required, and overtime may be necessary.
