About The Position

The Distribution Inventory Coordinator will maintain records concerning ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
  • Knowledge of weight distribution and loading patterns.
  • The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
  • Ability to utilize IBM Content Manager, MAC21, and other 3rd party software applications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or week as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving around the facility.
  • Must be able to use the three-point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and reviews data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports to determine compliance with control and audit systems.
  • Enters information into the computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records accuracy.
  • Conducts accurate cycle and security counts as per schedule and compares results to system data, adjusting based on established policies and management approval.
  • Compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in inventory, and current market conditions to determine inventory levels and need for replenishment.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations to facility management regarding stock levels, item status, and product disposition.
  • Prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
  • Recommends additions to or deletions of product to management.
  • Compares nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify the accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
  • Communicates changes needed to inventory management, information systems, or appropriate departments.
  • Reviews product tagging and signage for accuracy and completeness and initiates corrective action.
  • Works with and through corporate, store, and yard personnel in order to maintain accuracy and compliance with control and audit systems.
  • Provides information to customers and co-workers about product usage, availability, and application when necessary.
  • Maintains inventory and displays within assigned areas to merchandising standards by stocking, facing, straightening, and cleaning or any other task necessary to maintain the appearance and salability of items.
  • Researches discrepancies on store orders and recommends solutions.
  • Operates a forklift and performs daily inspections that include maintaining the service log.
  • Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
