About The Position

Displays Engineers research, develop, analyze, and document display system designs for flight training simulators. Use key performance parameters, such as field-of-view, luminance, resolution and contrast, to evaluate display systems. Creativity and initiative are fostered in a highly collaborative environment. This level requires considerable know-how of the subject matter, principles, and concepts of more complex systems. Successfully completes diverse tasks of the job; applies and enhances knowledge and skill in both usual and unusual issues. Needs minimal guidance in addressing unusual situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4 years of experience.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Experience with mathematical analysis tools and 3D modeling/CAD software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in optical design or vision science is a plus.
  • Strong optical engineering background.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB.
  • Experience developing software tools (C#, C++, etc.).
  • Experience with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze simulator display requirements and estimate design effort.
  • Develop conceptual visual solutions to support proposal responses and marketing activities.
  • Assist with prototype assembly and testing of visual systems.
  • Perform scientific and computer‑based analysis to predict system performance, including basic structural evaluation.
  • Evaluate hardware, software, mechanical, and electrical interfaces to ensure proper system operation.
  • Work directly with internal and external engineering teams to jointly develop and validate technical solutions.
  • Provide technical liaison support for suppliers and customers.
  • Travel to customer sites for surveys, design reviews, and installation support, offering on‑site technical direction.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on display and visual systems, especially FlightSafety visual products.
  • Break down customer requirements early in the proposal process, validating and identifying gaps where necessary.
  • Mentor junior team members and guide engineering decisions.
  • Provide clear status updates documenting progress, risks, and schedule considerations.
