About The Position

Dispatcher needed to provide a professional and calm attitude to the communications center, serving as a vital link in communication between staff, emergency responders, clients, and the public. This role requires proficiency in radio communications, answering phones professionally, prioritizing calls, using communication systems and computers, maintaining accurate records, acting as an information hub, implementing emergency procedures, and potentially monitoring CCTV cameras and office security.

Requirements

  • Administrative skills including Microsoft is required.
  • Hospitality skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and write proficiently in the English language.
  • Proficient in computer usage and in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, quiet, and professional atmosphere in the reception and dispatch areas.
  • Ability to competently perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery.
  • Ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group.

Nice To Haves

  • Dispatch experience preferred.
  • High call volume experience is a plus.
  • CCTV Monitoring experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all radio traffic, controlling any and all radio conversations.
  • Answer phones in a professional and friendly manner and check voicemail for missed calls.
  • Multitask and respond to several calls at once, prioritizing duties to address the most urgent and important first.
  • Check for proper functioning of computers and communication systems at the beginning of their shift, including radio transmission and reception, computer hardware and software functions, and availability of information and reporting notebooks.
  • Keep accurate and thorough records of all radio and phone communications, including statistical information and documentation of incidents.
  • Utilize district information notebooks and computer search engines to locate information requested by field ambassadors to assist the public.
  • Implement emergency SOPs when situations dictate while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Proactively monitor CCTV cameras and report any illegal activity observed to the appropriate authorities (only at some locations).
  • Monitor outside entrances to the office and be aware of who is entering the building, potentially observing security camera monitors.
  • Keep the reception area clean and welcoming to guests (only at some locations).
