About the position
DispatchHealth is seeking Medical Technicians to join our clinical team in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves working closely with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in a mobile healthcare setting, providing direct patient care and gaining valuable experience. The position requires current EMT certification and offers extensive on-the-job training in a CLIA certified mobile laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Work under supervision of licensed NP/PA providers
- Patient assessment and monitoring, including vital signs
- Perform IV starts and blood draws as permitted by state law
- Apply splints and provide wound care
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain point of care laboratory equipment
- Perform EKGs
- Assist NP/PAs in daily functions of a mobile care delivery emergency unit
- Document patient care activities
- Supply and stock necessary medical equipment
Requirements
- Current EMT certification
- IV Certification
- Basic Certification with AZ, EMT License
- Bachelor's degree in a core science or lab science (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in chemistry and hematology
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
